http://www.p2pforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=6431
A pak samozřejmě perfektní Azureus WiKi
:

Konkrétně tady je menší vysvětlení uploadu/downloadu:

Tipl bych si, že většina otázek, které lidé ohledně BT mají je na výše uvedených odkazech zodpovězena.

A lot of people really seem to be interested in speeding up their torrents, so here's a little guide on how to do it.
Unchain your TCP
if you're using Windows XP sp2 then your max half open TCP are limited to 10. If you don't know what this means it really doesn't matter, the point is SP2 limits your TCP connections which are crucial for P2P (and pretty much every other network app). Basically, the more TCP connections you can have, the better your speed will be.
Unfortunately there is no regfix or windows option to alter this, there is however a patch for it.
http://lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads
When prompted, press "Y" for Yes, and then the program will begin patching.
During the patch process you'll get a popup from windows telling you that a system file has been overwritten and asking for your windows CD. Don't worry, this is normal. The patch edits a system file in windows (the only way to change the limit) and windows automatically wants to protect itself by getting the original file from the CD and changing it back. In this case this is exactly what we DON'T want, so ignore the warning (close it by pressing "cancel" and then on the next window by pressing "abort").
Once patched, you'll need to restart your computer for this to take effect.
Setup you uTorrent and BitComt to take advantage of these changes
Start up either client
for uTorrent go to
Options > Preferences > Advanced options
for bitcomet
Options > Preferences > Connection

Have a router? Port-forward!
Because of the nature of NAT if you want to receive data addressed to your computer with a port number, you need to port forward.
Here is a description of what exactly port forwarding is from portforward.com
Since there are so many routers it's just impossible to provide a universal tweak but it really can't get much easier than using PortForward.com.
Simply locate your brand, find you model, and there you are. A detailed step-by-step guide specifically written just for your router on how to port forward.
-----
Change your port number
this is a pretty standard trick but I'm going to list it here anyways just in case.
With ISPs becoming aware of bittorrent and bittorrent using up most of the internet's available bandwidth, service providers have become increasingly aware of the bittorrent protocol. As such, a lot of ISP have resorted to throttling (heavily limiting speed of) commonly used bittorrent ports. As such users have turned to using alternative ports that are not blocked. If you are still using the default ports CHANGE THEM.
Basically just choose any port between 49152 and 65535 and you're done
-----
Cap your upload speed
a pretty controversial tweak, basically this would be a bad and generally unfair idea for anyone with an upload of fewer than 500kbps. What you are going to be doing is limiting your upload to 80% or its original speed. If your upload speed maxes out then it can seriously affect your download speed. Now just keep in mind that seeding is key for the bittorrent network to survive and definitely crucial for the survival or the torrent itself. You will probably have to seed a bit longer in order to get to your desired ratio (preferably at least 1:1 or 100% or what you've downloaded).
Simply tweak, just find out your upload speed, I find that speed tests are usually inaccurate (at least in my experience) it's better to just open up your client and check the speed logs (if your client has any) or record the highest upload speed you've gotten on a torrent. Once you've got that just go into the options for your client and find try to find an "upload limit" or "upload cap" field. Enter about 80% of your highest (maximum) upload speed.
Now it's important to be fairly accurate with this number (your max upload speed), if it's well below your actual max upload you will be waiting quite some time to finish seeding your torrent (because you'd never be a dirty leech now would you wink.gif ), go over and you won't reap the benefits of this tweak.

Ditch windows firewall
Windows firewall is okay for most things but the fact is it despises P2P and tends to take matters into its own hands sometimes. You're better off getting a 3rd party one. More options, more security, probably a bit more system usage, but it's usually a fair trade off. Whatever you do though I'd advise against using Zone Alarm products as per their recently revealed "bug".
UPDATE
Seems Zone Labs has smartened up and fixed the problem. Check it.

Find torrents like a pro
Sure anyone can find torrents, but here are a few tips to find torrents intelligently, trust me when I say that it can make all the difference.
Compile a decent list of trackers/torrent search engines. You shouldn't limit yourself to just one resource. Torrent search engines are a good start but try not to rely on them too much (more on that later) try to mix it up and find several good torrent dump sites or large trackers.
Beware ISOhunt. While an excellent resource for finding torrents, downloading is another story. Often due to the complex nature of its tracking you may not be able to connect to some or all of the peers that are on the torrent. It's not a regular occurrence, but I've had it happen on more than one occasion and as such I have made a habit or downloading mostly all my torrents from the original tracker.
When you find a torrent you like just click the link just under "Download .Torrent" link. It will take you to the tracker the torrent is hosted on and chances are it will improve your connectivity slightly.

"Availability" or how to find the perfect torrent. Advanced
Warning: This is pretty advanced stuff I'm about to go into, so unless you're pretty familiar with the workings of bittorrent or at least eager to learn quickly then this may not be for you.
Okay well this isn't as much a tweak as it is a "system" or sorts, but it can definitely improve your connectivity to people and thus your speed.
The tenant of this system is to find the torrent with the largest seeder to leecher ratio, because let's face it, it's pretty rare to find a torrent with more seeders than leechers these days and often times we are forced to DL torrents with a less than pleasant amount of people seeding.
This system takes into account the number of leechers vs. seeders and calculates how much of the seeders bandwidth will be taken up by the leechers. The torrent with the greatest amount of seeders is not always going to be the fastest. If a torrent has 500 seeders but 10,000+ leechers, then chances are that most of the seeders bandwidth is spread across many people and each seeder has less upload to spare for you.

Here is a description of what exactly port forwarding is from portforward.com
Again, like mostly all the tweaks here you don't need to really understand what you are doing in order to do it (but it helps and hey, you may even learn something ).When a computer on the internet sends data to the external ip address of the router, the router needs to know what to do with the data. Port Forwarding simply tells the router which computer on the local area network to send the data to. When you have port forwarding rules set up, your router takes the data off of the external ip address:port number and sends that data to an internal ip address:port number. Port Forwarding rules are created per port. So a rule set up for port 53 will only work for port 53
Since there are so many routers it's just impossible to provide a universal tweak but it really can't get much easier than using PortForward.com.
